Today I did my overview with the CFO, Jim Jumpeter. He answered all of the questions I had from working with the accounting deparment and then this afternoon I went to a CPA convention for juniors and seniors in college. This was held at McGladrey LLP, this also happens to be the company that leads all of the audits for 21st Century Healthcare. This was a very cool expierience and

Today I worked with the payroll and human resoucorces manager, Sarah Jacobson. The Payroll Manager manages and coordinates activities for staff and payroll systems including the processing of employment applications. She is also in status confirmation via e-Verify, payroll input, reporting and employee benifit administration.
 
Today I worked with Mike Reeves, the Information Technology Director. He just went over wtih me, what the daily basics of his job are. We went around the company buildings and did a checklist that includes:
Check Exchange queue
Check server status lights
Check server UPS status lights
Check queues on Barracuda Spam/virus filter
Check Barracuda web filter for infection reports
Check AWS wireless status

As said before, Mike does every one of these checks Monday-Friday.
 
Today I worked with Pam Woodruff, Sales order entry and EDI. Order entry is responsible for the manual/electronic entry of all customer PO's on a daily basis, coordinationof EDI transactions and maintenance of Sales Contracts and Rebates within Process Pro. She also recommended that for my professional career, I may want to consider joining Linkedin.com.
 
Today I worked with Robin Thompson, accounts payable. Accounts payable is responsible for matching the receipts and purchase orders to Vendor invoices. Resolve discrepancies as they relate to Vendor invoices. She works with the credit memos. Accounts payable also see's every single receipt that comes through the business. She informed me that the most important jobs of accounting in general is speed and accuracy.
 
Today I went in and talked to the CFO, Jim Jumpeter, and he told me that for the next week and a half I will be working with the accounting department:
Wednesday: Accounts receivable- Tracy Stanger
Thursday: Accounts Payable- Robin Thompson
Friday: Slaes Order Entry and EDI- Pam Woodfruff
Monday: Information Technology- Mike Reeves
Tuesday: Payroll and Human Resources- Sarah Jacobson
Wednesday: Senior Director of Finance and Accounting and Controller- Greg Mahre
Thursday: Accounting overview and Wrap-up- Jim Jumpeter

Today was accounts receivable. Accounts receivable is responsible for the application of customer payments and following up with customers on past due accounts. Resolve customer deductions. Process credits for returns and marketing deductions. Tracy works with electric fund transfers. These are received through wire
 
Today I sat in on The 9. We are now going to begin to make Whey Protein. We talked about our orders to Iran and what products to release to packaging (RTP). We are currently waiting for the approval of the UPC's and waiting on the purchasing order (PO) for the new softgels. I have also been informed that over the next week and a half, I will be working with the accounting department to learn how their jobs works and a summary of what their jobs entail.
